Adding a new service or device
A new service is a new scope question before it is a marketing question. Who may perform it, under whose authority, with what screening and what record.
What has to exist
- A decision record for the service: why it was added, who approved it, what it depends on.
- A prescriber-signed authorization for the service, and for devices, the parameters.
- Screening questions specific to the service.
- A per-encounter treatment record for it.
- Training and competency sign-off for each person who will perform it.
- A verification entry: who may perform it where you practice, and the source.
